Lastly (2026)
I made this film with my grandma. I set out to speak with her about the internment camps where she spent the first six years of her life. But as it turned out, everyone has always wanted to talk to her about that period of instability.
The film explores what has truly shaped and defined her life, following a childhood marked by forced migration and chaos. It asks: which stories do we ask people to tell again and again, and are those the stories that most fully contain them?
